project104

Project104 is a socially driven photography initiative created to foster community, collaboration, and shared exploration within the photographic field. Founded as a collective practice, the project brings photographers together through regular meetings with a common goal: to document every district of Hamburg in its own unique way.

Each district invites a new photographer, expanding the circle through participation, exchange, and friendship. This growing network transforms the city into both subject and meeting ground — a living map built from individual perspectives and collective experiences.

Project104 is less about uniform documentation than about dialogue: between photographers, between districts, and between the social and visual fabric of the city. Through its process, it reveals Hamburg as a constellation of encounters — local, personal, and evolving.
